Important Fall Ball Equipment Return Information!

Since this weekend marks the end of the fall baseball season, we need to get all of the equipment back. please take your equipment to the boardroom next to the concession stand following your game on Sunday. If it is locked, please just leave it outside. It is very important that we get everything back this Sunday, so we do not have to track you down and have you get it to me at a later date. Please return equipment even if you may have intentions of coaching again in the spring. please try and clearly indicate on or in the bag your team name and league. We need to go through everything and replace and repair it so that everyone will have good stuff in the spring. Thanks for your cooperation and please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

AAA Coaches! - Belvedere Not Fielding AAA Team.

It appears that the Belvedere team has decided not to field a AAA team in our league this Fall. it has been suggested by the league that when you are scheduled to play Belvedere, that you line up a "pick-up" team for your squad to play. This could be done via e-mail to see if any players from other teams are interested in playing an additional game that day either before or after their scheduled game. Teams could be set on a first come first serve basis. You could also contact other players from last spring who are not playing this Fall.

Attention Coaches - Fall Ball Equipment Pickup!

.All equipment for fall-ball will be distributed on Wednesday 8/23 from 5-6:30 and Thursday 8/24 from 5-7. Please have a representative from your team stop by the equipment shed at the A batting cages to get all of your gear, balls, etc. These are the only times that I will be available prior to the first practices next Sunday. Majors managers may want to contact their team's manager from last spring for equipment as most keep their own gear from season to season. Baseballs are available for all majors teams and equipment if needed.

Notes From Donal: Fall Ball at Buckhead has two goals as follows:

1. Create an opportunity for players to play baseball in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

2. Allow players to experiment playing other positions they might not ordinarily play during the regular season.

With this in mind, we have the following rules for the Fall Ball season:

1. Teams will bat through the order (1 through the number of players on the team).

2. Free substitutions: No player is to sit out consecutive innings or sit out more than 2 innings in the game.

3. No player can pitch more than 2 innings in a game. Note: This does not mean you pitch any player on the roster. Make sure the player can pitch and throw strikes. Have a rule in place with the team, so a pitcher knows you will replace them if they walk 2 or 3 batters in an inning. There is nothing more painful for the rest of the team or the spectators than to watch a pitcher walk batter after batter.

4. Since Fall Baseball is a secondary sport for most of the participants, you are allowed to use any other players from another team (s) IN YOUR LEAGUE to field a team. You may not add additional players if you have at least 9 in majors or AAA or 10 in the other leagues.

5. We want to develop catchers in our program. So if a player has the ability and the desire, let them catch in your games. Don't have the same player catch for 6 innings unless you have no other options at catcher!

In AA, AAA & Majors this Fall Ball season, we will have a team from Belvedere Little League participate in our Program. Please give these teams a big Buckhead welcome. We may even play some regular season games vs. their park in the Spring.
