John Livaditis of the 12YO Majors Athletics is the recipient of the 2009 Frankie Allen Sportsmanship Award. This award is voted on by the umpires and was originated in 1980 by umpire Terry Jerden in memory of his mentor, Frankie Allen. Frankie Allen considered sportsmanship to be the most important aspect of Little League baseball. In the 30 years since the award originated, Terry stated that this is the the first time the vote by the umpires has been unanimous.
