Six year-old players will now play in the Young Bucks League (formerly TB6). The name change is in response to survey input from parents and coaches that indicated many of these players have played t-ball at ages 4 and 5, so they are ready to graduate to the next level.
So now at the age of 6, we will begin to introduce Coach Pitch making this level no longer really “tee ball”.
After a few weeks of traditional t-ball, players will have the chance to hit a ball pitched by a coach. This will be an option (not obligation) for all players and after 5 missed pitches, the player will be able to hit off the tee. This new concept was rolled out in Fall Ball and was judged as quite successful by players, coaches and parents. It will continue in the spring of 2012 and beyond. So, welcome all 6 year olds to the Young Bucks League!
