-
When does registration close?
Open registration will close on Friday, December 16th at 11:59PM ET. After that time, we will continue to accept registrations onto our Wait List, but we cannot guarantee that all players will be accommodated. There is an additional $50 late fee beginning December 17th. We will clear players from the Wait List based on the electronic time stamp of their completed registration.
-
Why does registration close in December?
We need to establish the numbers of teams per league by December 20th so that we can secure coaches, create schedules, and place orders for equipment and uniforms. We hope to be able to accept all players, but we will not add more teams after December 20th, so it is imperative for families to register on time to guarantee their slot. In the past, we have extended registration into January, but that has created delays in our scheduling and team assignment processes. These concerns were expressed in the Spring 2011 surveys by numerous parents and we are attempting to eliminate the delays through this change.
-
Do I have to provide a birth certificate?
All new players including siblings are required to bring an official copy of their birth certificate to Frankie Allen Park on Saturday, January 7th between the hours of 8 – 11AM.
-
How will I know if my player has been cleared from the waiting list?
Players will be cleared based on the time stamp on their completed online registration. Parents will be notified by an e-mail to the e-mail address on their account.
-
Can I request to be on a specific coach or player’s team?
Yes, during the registration process when you add a player to your Shopping Cart, click on the red text that says Add Special Request and enter your special request for that player. Repeat the process for additional players as they are added to the Shopping Cart. Parents are encouraged to make their requests known, but with the understanding that not all requests will be able to be honored due to the overwhelming number of requests that are received.
Tryouts & Player Draft
-
What are tryouts?
Tryouts are player evaluations that are held on two Saturdays in January. Every player in the A, AA, AAA & Major League are required to attend the evaluation. Players will be evaluated on general baseball skills: Hitting, Base Running, Infield, and Outfield. Additional Pitcher and Catcher evaluations will be held for the AA and above Leagues. Every player will be assigned to a team via a draft process in the weeks after the tryouts.
-
When are tryouts for 2012?
Majors / AAA Tryouts – Saturday, January 21st
AA / A Tryouts – Saturday, January 28th
-
What are tryout numbers?
Tryout numbers are assigned to players based on their age group and date of birth. The tryouts will be held starting with the oldest players in each age group and continuing in birth date order through the youngest players in each league.
-
What if I cannot come during my assigned time slot?
Please try to come as close as possible to your assigned time, but we understand that basketball and other winter sport conflicts may occur. Players must attend tryouts in order to be eligible for the Majors Draft. 11/12 yr. old players missing tryouts will be assigned to the AAA League for draft. For AAA – A, a player missing tryouts will be placed in the draft and their previous season information will be used to evaluate the player.
-
How are players assigned to a team?
Player drafts are held after tryouts for all leagues from A to Majors. Teams in the younger age groups are assigned to neighborhood or school based teams with an effort made to take into account special requests from parents even though due to sheer volume all requests cannot be met. See the League Calendar (insert hyperlink here) for the dates of the drafts and team assignments for the current season.

Does my 11 or 12 year-old have to play in Majors?
All 11 & 12 yr old players are eligible to tryout for Majors, but they do not have to. Parents may request for the player to be assigned to AAA rather than Majors by using the special request field on the registration site or by contacting the Registrar, Majors Commissioner or AAA Commissioner.
