Please affix your player's tryout number to his uniform. Make sure the numbers are at least 4 inches tall and 0.5 inches thick in bold marker. A good method is to place the tryout number on white duct or masking tape on the player's thigh above the knee.
Players should bring their glove and arrive 15 minutes prior to their tryout time in order to warm-up properly.
Pitcher / Catcher evaluations will be conducted immediately after the last group has completed their tryouts.
If you have a winter season sport or school conflict, please come to tryouts either before or after your assigned time and we will work your player into the tryouts. Please try to come at your assigned timeslot if at all possible.

Friday, Jan. 15th at 5:00pm NYO Gym at Chastain Park
All are welcome including players. James' family will be there. His funeral will be Saturday, but is 4 hours away, thus the service at NYO.
Many of you know this already, but James Armstrong passed away over the weekend. James was a long time umpire at Buckhead Baseball, as well as officiating other youth sports in metro Atlanta (e.g., basketball at NYO) for more than 30 years. Those of us who saw him officiate games will always remember the smiles he shared with our children over the years. James was always chatting and laughing with the players - and they loved him for it. One child said recently when he learned of James' passing - "He was different than some other umps - he wouldn't just call you out or safe, he would always explain things to you, and he was always really nice about it." James was what is good about youth sports - as the kids of Buckhead Baseball and NYO Basketball remember him and tell their funny stories, we know he was a man who put our kids first, and we will miss him.
For the benefit of his wife, please consider a contribution to the "JAMES ARMSTRONG MEMORIAL FUND" that has been established at Wachovia, any Wachovia branch can accept contributions; any contributions are voluntary and personal. Our deepest condolences to his wife and family on behalf of all of James' friends at Buckhead Baseball.
Due to the weather forcast for Saturday A and AA tryouts have been rescheduled for Sunday 1/31. New A league tryout times have been assigned, please see below for info.
