Brian Lemaster, age 50, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2013, after a courageous two-year battle with esophageal cancer.  Brian was a devoted and beloved husband of Leigh, and father of Anna, William and Brantley.  Brian grew up in Atlanta, where he attended the Atlanta Public Schools (Morris Brandon Elementary School, the Sutton Middle School, and Northside High School) and graduated from Vanderbilt University. Brian worked for a family-owned business, Norcross Supply Company, where he was employed at the time of his death.

Brian loved spending time with all three of his children, and he loved baseball.  Brian played at Buckhead Baseball in the 1970s, and he followed his son, William, intently through his successful experience at Buckhead.  Brian also volunteered his IT expertise to our league serving on our Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013.   In his passion for the great game of baseball and his son, Brian is well known for always keeping the book for William’s games.  While in cancer treatment this past summer, one of Brian’s goals was to keep the books for William and the 12U Buckhead Bucks through their successful run at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Brian always had a smile on his face like the one in this picture taken during a rain delay.  While others sought shelter, Brian stayed in the stands with a “thumbs up” attitude hoping for a quick return to the game and always having a positive approach to life.  The service to celebrate Brian’s life is Tuesday, November 5, at 11:00 am at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.  A reception will follow at Cherokee Country Club.

Buckhead Baseball is a better community because of Brian Lemaster and his family.  A memorial for Brian is being established at Buckhead Baseball.  If you are interested in supporting this effort, please send a note and contribution to: Buckhead Baseball, Inc., 1266 West Paces Ferry Road, Box 273, Atlanta, GA  30327.
