The 10U Bucks won the AllStar Bases Loaded Tournament in Snellville this past weekend. The early morning Saturday start caught us asleep and having forgotten all aspects of base running as we tied the first pool game against a good defensive Dacula team 5 to 5. We won the next 2 games in decisive fashion outscoring our opponents 27 to 6. We were hitting the ball well up and down the order with the highlight of these 2 games being a monster 3 run homer by Peace Dillon that cleared the CF scoreboard by several feet. Bucks had to go to work against a hard hitting Central Dekalb team in the semi-finals. Charlie Baxter gave us good work on the mound giving up 3 ER on 7 hits with 7 Ks. He went a complete game which saved our 3 remaining pitchers for the finals.

We played unbeaten Grayson for the championship facing a kid that made JG look puny (his nickname was Chewbacca) and who the best heat we have seen all season. We put 1 up in the first but gave up 2 each in the first and second innings. Our bats came alive in the 3rd as we put up 5 runs on some key hits and then iced it with 4 more after they changed pitchers in the 5th.  At the plate Drew Mauldin went 3 for 3, Max Pargman was 2 for 3 with 5 RBIs and Callum Hendry went 2 for 2.  Eli Mautner started for us throwing a lot of strikes the first 2 innings and kept them off balance with a good mix of pitches allowing only 4 runs. Carter Davies came in for the remaining innings and pitched the best we have seen him all season allowing no hits, 4Ks and only 2 BB. For this game and the entire tournament, it was a true team effort. Bucks batted .543 as a team for the tournament with Mauldin, Pargman, Davies, Dillon and Baxter all batting over .600.
