12 Year Old Braves Have a Big Summer on the Diamond

The Senior Statesmen of Frankie Allen Park, the 12U Buckhead Braves, played a successful summer season, posting a 25-6-1 record!  This equates to an impressive .731 winning percentage.  The boys won several of the tournaments in which they played – dominating their equivalent Rec League competition and more than holding their own against select Travel Teams from across the state and region.  Additional highlights included a fabulous Ripken Tournament in Myrtle Beach and a bracket play victory over friendly cross-town rival, NYO.  Braves pitchers mowed down opposing batters, big barrel Braves’ bats sent balls into orbit and many a defensive gem was turned on the field.  Each player contributed several spectacular and game-winning plays over the course of the summer.

The team was led by Coach Carson Turner, Coach James Wiley and Coach John McColl. The boys and families are indebted to these great young men. The 12 man squad was comprised of Banks Snellings, Mathew Beck, Ellis Prigge, Conor Walsh, Paul Flor, Nick O’Reilly, Thomas Rollauer, Hayes Rollauer, Mark Gallups, Michael Hollingsworth, Luke Ham and Wright Formisano.

A number of the boys plan to continue to participate in Buckhead Baseball through the Academy Program for 13-14 year olds.  Regardless of program or school, memories and friendships for a lifetime were cemented.  Thank you Buckhead Baseball!!!!
